Sumptuous CBD Body Balm

Balms are an effective, easy, and satisfying way to nourish the skin. Because they are so easily customizable, balms have the power to provide hydration, promote healing, and soothe a wide array of skin types and ailments. With reported soothing and pain relief properties, CBD oil can be right at home as an ingredient in your luxurious, bespoke body balm.


You’ll need:

  • 2 x 120 ml Sterilized jars

  • 48 g Beeswax

  • 132 ml Carrier oil options: olive, sunflower, coconut, apricot

  • 32 ml Active oil options: hemp, avocado, pumpkin, rose hip

  • 1 ml Vitamin E

  • Optional: 20 to 40 drops of essential oils

  • Optional: 5 to 30 ml of CBD oil



  1. Measure all your ingredients out in small bowls or beakers

  2. Melt beeswax in a double boiler

  3. Once the beeswax is melted, add the Carrier oils + mix well

  4. When the oils and wax are completely melted, remove from heat and add your Active oils, mix well.

  5. Add Vitamin E, essential and CBD oils. Mix well and pour into sterilized jars.

  6. Let balm stand still for 20 to 40 minutes. Do not put on the cap until the balm has completely hardened.

Try these essential oil blends:

For targeted results, try adding one of these blends to your balm. Use 2-4 drops of each essential oil.

  • Muscle relaxation: bergamot, peppermint, lavender, cedar wood, black spruce, cypress

  • Decongestion: eucalyptus, peppermint, frankincense, pine, lemon, tea tree

  • Warming: juniper, patchouli, cedar wood

  • Scar reducing: rose hip, helichrysum, frankincense, bergamot, myrrh

Try these carrier oils:

  • Apricot Oil: Rich in oleic acids and Vitamin A to moisturize and nourish skin. Absorbs quickly into the skin.

  • Avocado Oil: Rich in antioxidants, Vitamins A, D, and E, and omega-3 fatty acids which deeply penetrate skin to fight dryness, dullness, and dehydration.

  • Beeswax: Provides lasting hydration and protection, replenishing skin’s moisture barrier and protecting skin against the elements without clogging pores.

  • Hemp Oil: Rich in anti-aging essential fatty acids Omega-6 and Omega-3 which help relieve dry, itchy, and cracked skin.

  • Rose hip Oil: Rich in Vitamin C which reportedly brightens and evens skin tone. An abundance of fatty acids which repair, regenerate and protect the skin.

  • Sunflower Oil: Rich in Vitamins A, B, D, and E, and uniquely high in Omega-9 fatty acids which helps the skin retain its natural softness. Absorbs quickly and does not congest pores.

  • Vitamin E: Rich in fatty acids, vitamins and minerals that soothe inflammation and moisturize. A great choice for dry and mature skin
